Where's Fluffy?

I don't claim to be a movie critic in any sense of the definition, but after much anticipation (on my part) I finally got a chance to sit down and watch "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist" last night. I will admit that I think Michael Cera is absolutely charming (in that geeky, awkward sort of way), but that actually isn't why I have been determined to view this almost-straight-to-DVD film. Let's be honest...it was the music. Obviously.

Not only did this movie include songs from great Indie bands such as The National, We Are Scientists, & Bishop Allen, but it also featured some of my classic go-to groups (Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, Shout Out Louds, Rogue Wave). Throughout the entire film I remained a constant believer in the power of Nick's fantastic mix CDs and I adored the fact that Norah quickly falls in love with him simply based on his taste in music. Reality? Not even close, but a girl can always dream, right?

One last note..."Our Swords" by Band of Horses is a personal favorite of mine (refer back to my first post) and the fact that it was predominantly featured in this movie puts a smile on my face.

Final say: Predictable movie with a decent cast equipped with a laundry list of great bands that I highly recommend checking out. What now, Roeper & Ebert?
